Enterococcus faecium and Bacillus veezensis
The gut-friendly bacteria Enterococcus faecium and Bacillus velezensis restore balance to your dog or cat's gut flora. Both strains are officially approved in the EU as zootechnical additives (category "gut flora stabilizers") and both survive stomach acid. They create an environment in which beneficial bacteria, such as lactic acid bacteria, thrive and harmful bacteria, such as Streptococcus and Salmonella, are suppressed.

Enterococcus faecium: contains a coating (protective layer), fairly resistant to stomach acid, always living, vegetative (non-sporulating), active directly in the small and large intestine
Bacillus velezensis: spore former, survives stomach acid almost 100%, endospores, active only in the small intestine (after germination).

In short: Bacillus velezensis is a "dormant" spore that only awakens in the intestines; Enterococcus faecium is already awake and fighting its way through the stomach. An ideal combination. And so, both are included in our probiotic tablets for dogs and cats.

Both deworming agents (ask your veterinarian) and/or Giardia itself can damage the intestinal wall and disrupt intestinal flora.
