Nutritional advice

-With a small dog, you can usually switch from puppy food to adult food such as adult mini or sensitive mini around 9 to 12 months.

Feed with your eyes. The amounts in the feeding schedule can be used as a guideline, depending on your dog's age, activity level, condition, and performance. The amounts listed should be given per day. Divide the amount over 3 to 5 meals. Always provide plenty of fresh drinking water.

A puppy's growth can be divided into two phases. The first phase is one of rapid growth. Your puppy now needs a lot of energy. When it's about halfway grown, the second phase begins. This is a phase of more moderate growth. Its energy needs then gradually decrease until your dog reaches adulthood and has the energy needs of an adult dog.
The duration of the two phases varies by breed. Small breeds, such as the Yorkshire Terrier, reach full maturity at 6 to 9 months of age. Very large breeds, such as the Great Dane, don't reach full maturity until 18 to 24 months of age. It's especially important for large breeds to allow them to mature gradually during the second phase to prevent bone and joint problems. If your puppy(ies) experience diarrhea due to their sensitive gastrointestinal tract, which is still developing, we recommend temporarily feeding them BF®Petfood Meat Food or BF®Petfood 3-in-1 biscuits.

*Pregnancy: Increase the amount of food by 10% in the 7th week, and by 20% in the 8th and 9th weeks. Lactation: Increase the amount of food by 50%, divided into 3 to 4 portions.
